Frequently asked questions
How much does vacuum glazing cost?
The price of vacuum glazing is slightly higher than that of traditional insulating glass, but that’s not the whole story. Because with BENGglas, you also save on:
- new window frames (which are often necessary with triple glazing)
- replacement costs, thanks to a lifespan that’s twice as long
- additional hardware
- your energy bill, thanks to a stable U-value that lasts up to 50 years
- and your energy rating—which results in a higher home value. As a result, the effective payback period is often 0 years.
In addition, there are attractive subsidies for vacuum glazing, which in the Netherlands can amount to as much as €46 per m².
Our recommended retail price?
As a guideline, you can expect a price starting at €295 per m² (excl. VAT, shipping, and installation, based on 1 m²).
The final cost depends on your specific situation: window frame type, choice of glass (e.g., laminated or solar-control), and any additional requests such as painting or finishing touches. For this reason, it’s difficult to provide an exact price. Would you like to request a quote that includes installation? Fill out our quote form and receive 3 quotes from 3 certified dealers in your area. This way, you can immediately compare prices fairly!

Is vacuum glazing soundproof?
Vacuum glazing is highly soundproof. It blocks sound more effectively than double glazing and triple glazing: BENGglas reduces noise by 36 dB, compared to 31 dB for double glazing and 33 dB for triple glazing. The difference is particularly noticeable with low-frequency sounds, such as traffic and trucks.
The difference in numbers
Sound insulation is expressed as Rw (C; Ctr). The first value is the average attenuation. The second and third values indicate the remaining sound levels for high and low frequencies.
- BENGglas: 36 dB, and 33 dB for low-frequency sounds
- Triple-pane glass: 33 dB, and 27 dB for low-frequency sounds
- Double glazing: 31 dB, and 27 dB for low frequencies
For low frequencies, BENGglas thus provides 6 dB more attenuation than double glazing and triple glazing. It is precisely these low frequencies that bother most people.
Need even more peace and quiet?
Do you live on a busy road, near a railroad track, or under a flight path? Then you can further improve sound insulation:
- Laminated BENGglas: up to 39 dB
- With acoustic film: up to 41 dB
