“Vacuum glazing is the glass of the future. I’m certain this innovative product will revolutionize the use of glass in homes and buildings. It simply has to; we have a massive sustainability challenge ahead of us if we want to keep this planet habitable. And BENGglas is the best insulating glass in the world.’
John Creutzberg of Giga-Glas! in Goirle has been a fixture in the glass industry for quite some time—more than 27 years now. He is a unique entrepreneur who shuns trade associations and business organizations. His business card reads “Drs.”—a degree in Business Economics. He prefers to chart his own course—and with success. He’s also a pioneer when it comes to importing from China, a country he’s been visiting for years and knows like the back of his hand. “I sound like a hippie now rather than a glass dealer, but I really mean it. We’ll have to do more to limit heat loss in window frames, windows, and glass facades, and BENGglas is the solution. We can’t do it alone. We’re riding the waves, but we’re too small to change them.”
Full Circle
Creutzberg’s business card lists BENGsolar alongside BENGglas. “We’ve integrated a PV solution into glass—known as BIPV—as well as other solar technology solutions. We’re currently conducting a pilot project in collaboration with the city of Groningen for PV-equipped sidewalk tiles, the first of which will be installed soon. And with a third product for energy storage, we hope to close the loop: BENGsolar for generating energy, BENGbatteries for storing energy, and BENGglas for conserving it.”
